Born in October of 1962 in the state of Illinois, Suzanne Snyder had a short career in the entertainment business, but one that was enviable and saw her featured in a number of noteworthy horror films. At the age of 21 she booked her first credited role, a guest spot on “CHiPS” in 1983, which she followed up with appearances on “T.J. Hooker” and “Gimme A Break!” in the same year. Later in her career, her television roles would include guest appearances on shows like “Rip Tide,” “The Facts of Life” and “Family Ties” in 1985, “Murder She Wrote” and “In the Heat of the Night” in 1991 and “Seinfeld” in 1992.
Early on in her career she also booked the cameo role of a cheerleader in 1984’s The Last Starfighter, but in 1985 she landed a bigger scifi role as one of the leads, Deb, in Weird Science with Michael Berryman. The following year, Suzanne Snyder played the small part of Lisa in Night of the Creeps before headlining two horror features in 1987 – Retribution and Tomorrow’s A Killer. With a little experience under her belt, she went on to play Brenda in Return of the Living Dead II and Debbie Stone in Killer Klowns from Outer Space, both in 1988.
So, where is Suzanne Snyder now?
Well, her career kind of flat-lined after her television appearances in the early 90s. But, this could be due to the fact that she was married and gave birth to three children and wanted to devote more time to her family. Her last credited roles include a guest spot on “Homicide: Life on the Street” in 1996, a supporting role in comedy Fools Rush In (1997) and a supporting role in drama Malevolence (1999). She did, however, pop up in 2004 as a production assistant on “Frontline” and again in 2013 with a small part in comedy Dancing on Dry Salt Lake.
Thanks for the good post. As a teen in the 80’s I always thought Deb from Weird Science was hot. I never realized she was the panties girl from Seinfeld even though I had seen that episode several times over the years. I totally respect her putting her career aside to raise her children. Once her kids are older maybe she will come back to work.
