This movie… This movie just has to happen, folks. As someone with a particularly fucked up sense of humor, I will find it as a personal failure if we all don’t band together to see Ross Patterson’s Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves become a reality by helping out with its post production costs.
Now, I don’t normally promote fundraisers with budgets above $20,000, but… I mean, come on. How could you not want to see everyone’s favorite joke, Helen Keller, slashing her way through a group of nightwolves who are stealing the vision and eyesight from a tiny village? This action-comedy with elements of horror is going to be so tongue in cheek (or on chin) that I can’t even stand it. The film also has an all star cast including Lin Shaye (Insidious, Ouija), Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sin City), Jim O’Heir (“Parks and Recreation”), Richard Riehle (Office Space), Alanna Ubach (Legally Blonde), Jesse Merlin (Jackass 3D) and Jessie Wiseman (Bellflower).
The production team behind Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves has already conducted a few promotional photo shoots and released a teaser trailer – on top of already shooting the entire feature – and those materials can be found at the Indiegogo Campaign page. The fundraiser is trying to raise $58,000 but with the plot, the cast, the comedy and all of the promotional materials in place, I sincerely hope this one reaches its goal. I know I’d buy a copy! Personally, I think the $50 tier is the best as you will receive the screenwriters #1 Best Seller “At Night She Cries, While He Rides His Steed,” a high resolution Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves poster, the finished film as a digital download and two other features from the film’s creator.
