Salem’s Lot, Night of the Comet star Geoffrey Lewis has passed away.

imagesAnother terrible day for the entertainment industry. Reports have started coming in that former Golden Globe Nominee Geoffrey Lewis has passed away. He died peacefully, of natural causes, in his home in California on Tuesday, April 7th. He was 79-years-old.

Lewis is most known for his roles in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. He is perhaps most recognized in the following movies: Dillinger (1973), High Planes Drifter (1973), Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974), Every Which Way but Loose (1978), Any Which Way You Can (1980), Bronco Billy (1980), Pink Cadillac (1989) and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997).

With over 200 on screen credits to his name, Geoffrey also appeared in a number of horror and science fiction titles including: Moon of the Wolf (1972), The Deadly Triangle (1977), Annihilator (1986), Out of the Dark (1989), Disturbed (1990), Song of the Vampire (2001), A Light in the Darkness (2002), The Fallen Ones (2005), Voodoo Moon (2006), Fingerprints (2006), The Haunted World of El Supebeasto (2009) and Mommy’s Little Monster (2012).

He also had a number of roles in cult and popular horror movies playing characters like: Carter in Night of the Comet (1984), Mike Ryerson in Salem’s Lot (1979), Terry McKeen in The Lawnmower Man (1992), Stubs in Trilogy of Terror II (1996), Roy Sullivan in The Devil’s Rejects (2005) and Harold in Wicked Little Things (2006).
