Some news has come in on a casting shakeup on Fox’s upcoming horror/comedy series Scream Queens. Nashville’s Oliver Hudson has been tapped to replace Joe Manganiello as co-star of the series due to Manganiello’s prior film commitments.
The series from Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan features a high profile cast including Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Ariana Grande and Lea Michele.
As the series was nearing production, it became clear the show couldn’t accomodate Manganiello’s extensive commitments to promoting his summer film Magic Mike XXL internationally.
Hudson will be juggling roles on both shows until Nashville wraps production.
The first installment of Scream Queens, slated for the fall, revolves around a college campus that is rocked by a series of murders. Details about Hudson’s role are being kept under wraps for the time being.
