Last week we brought you guys news of the supernatural horror pic The Hallow premiering at the Midnight Section of The Sundance Film Festival. Today brings news the film was acquired by label IFC Midnight for distribution in the U.S.
IFC Midnight has closed a low-seven-figure deal for U.S. rights to the horror film The Hallow. The film came to Park City with a lot of buzz because of the director, Corin Hardy. He’s the guy who caught Hollywood’s attention with his animated short Butterfly and vids for Ed Sheeran and others, parlaying that into the directing job on The Crow for Relativity.
The Hallow is written by Corin Hardy & Felipe Marino and directed by Corin Hardy.
The film stars Bojana Novakovic, Joseph Mawle, Michael McElhatton, Michael Smiley and Charlotte Williams.
Plot Synopsis
When a London-based conservationist is sent to Ireland with his wife and infant child to survey an area of forest believed to be hallowed ground by superstitious locals, his actions unwittingly disturb a horde of demonic creatures who prey upon the lost. Alone and deep within the darkness of the remote wilderness, he must now fight back to protect his family against the ancient forces’ relentless attacks.
