It’s looking as if the Ghostbusters remake/reboot has its lineup all sewn up. It’s not completely official yet, but director Paul Feig has found the four women who will comprise the iconic group. The new Ghostbusters will be comprised of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
McCarthy and Wiig will be reuniting with their Bridesmaids director Feig on the film, while SNL castmembers McKinnon and Jones are said to be coming aboard. The studio is still in negotiations but Feig apparently is confident enough about locking his cast that will fill the iconic roles played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson: The news came via a Feig tweet.
Katie Dippold, who collaborated with Feig and McCarthy on The Heat, is writing the script with production expected to start this year.
More on this as it develops.
