Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Carnival Row’ TV Series Set For Amazon

It looks as if Amazon Studios have picked up the Guillermo del Toro and Travis Beacham’s supernatural spec script A Killing On Carnival Row for production. This project has been floating around Hollywood for the last decade and at one time was being shopped as a feature with Del Toro to direct.

Now Del Toro and Beacham are transitioning the project into a TV series format for Amazon. The series will have Guillermo del Toro co-writing, executive producing and directing. Legendary TV is producing.

If Carnival Row goes to production, del Toro is set to direct the first episode. Del Toro, Beacham and Echevarria executive produce, with Echevarria serving as showrunner.

A Killing on Carnival Row is set in the future in a city called the Burgue, which looks a lot like 18th Century London. It is inhabited by humans and other creatures, and a serial killer is on the loose.

More on this project as it develops.
