Lesbian Zombies from Outer Space is a full-color, limited-release comic book series where fantasy becomes a nightmare. This Kickstarter campaign is meant to raise funds for the completion of an apocalyptic zom-com the likes of which you’ve never seen.
ACE JOHNSON (20s) is a regular guy. He manages a mom-and-pop video store, and he likes porn. GWEN MOFFET (20s) is a lesbian of mediocre looks. She’s not too successful with the ladies, and she hates guys who like porn. But when a mysterious SPACE QUEEN crash lands in the woods, the town’s women start turning into lesbian zombies, and these unlikely heroes are the only ones left to stop the apocalypse.
While Ace is our protagonist, the real stars of the show are the lesbian zombies themselves. What sets these zombies apart from any you’ve seen before? In this world, only women can become zombies, and when they do, they are transformed into their idealized sexual self. They will flaunt their sexuality to attract their real victims: men. And while classic zombies are interested in brains, the lesbian zombies are looking to munch on something below the belt…
Like our hero Ace – and many other guys out there — I am turned on when hot girls make out. The media has increasingly used this fantasy to attract viewers and attention — and it is clear the target for this titillation is horny men rather than horny lesbians.
I guess one day I sat down to think about it all — the concept instead of the visuals — and I realized how absurd this fantasy really is. If girls are into girls, then by definition guys aren’t part of the equation.
I came to understand that this male-oriented fantasy turns women into objects with uncontrollable lust and indiscriminate desire. And it is only the male voyeur who can quench their need — which means that these lustful women are powerless. This fantasy, then, like most fantasies, is one of power.
In addition, much of the imagery in fashion billboards and magazines presents women as frighteningly thin and pale, often with dead, staring eyes suggesting trance or intoxication. These women, then, are again representations of objects without any real will of their own. Or, from another perspective: Zombies.
