Warner Bros. and New Line are juggling their release slate slightly by announcing today they are moving The Conjuring 2 from its October 2015 release into 2016. So what will be taking its 2015 release spot? Read on for more info.
In the wake of The Conjuring spinoff Annabelle screaming up close to $167M worldwide, Warner Bros. is moving New Line’s sequel The Conjuring 2, out of its Oct. 23, 2015 spot into 2016. In place of Conjuring 2‘s old spot, Warner Bros./New Line will be releasing an untitled horror film on Oct. 23.
Speculation might be that Phil Claydon’s Crawlspace might take that October 23rd prime piece of real estate or maybe the Blumhouse-360 Film, Superstition, directed by first-time helmers Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff, revolves around a family that moves into a house that was once the site of a witch’s execution.
Whichever film it might be, the studio isn’t saying yet, but rest assured, the winner will be expected to scare up big box office money.
Stay tuned, as soon as we know, we’ll be here to report it.
