Universal and Legendary Pictures have just set release dates for a couple of their upcoming horror pics. Yultide horror flick Krampus has been given a release date of November 25, 2015 and Action/horror pic Spectral will see the dark of night on August 12, 2016. Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat) will be writing and directing Krampus, about an ancient creature of folklore who punishes the naughty children at Christmastime while Saint Nick bestows toys to the good children of the world. Rumors say the film will be an anthology similar to his cult hit Trick ‘r Treat.
Spetral will be directed by Nic Mathieu and will star Bruce Greenwood, Max Martini, Emily Mortimer, James Badge Dale, Clayne Crawford, and Ursula Parker.
The film is a story centered on a special-ops team that is dispatched to fight supernatural beings that have taken over New York City. Spectral is described as a supernatural Black Hawk Down/Ghostbusters type of film.
