Lindsay Lohan joining the cast of Six Gun Dead?

lindsaysixgunBesides the 2007 box office bomb I Know Who Killed Me and a small part in Scary Movie 5, Lindsay Lohan has stayed away from the horror genre for most of her career. Well, it looks like she may give it another shot because it’s being rumored that she will have a supporting role in the upcoming action-horror film, Six Gun Dead.

Six Gun Dead is currently in the pre-production phase, but Darwin Brooks is currently tapped to play the role of director. Brooks is a noteworthy assistant director, but it looks like Six Gun Dead may be his first try as thee director in charge. His previous works as assistant director include Ghost Ship (2002), Aquamarine (2006), The Condemned (2007), The Great Gatsby (2013), 47 Ronin (2013), and Charlie’s Farm (2015). The script is said to be penned by Yossi Bechor, Julie Paupe, and Bruce Weinfield.

Lohan is most known as one of the biggest teen queens of yesteryear with lead roles in The Parent Trap (1998), Freaky Friday (2003), Mean Girls (2004), and Herbie Fully Loaded (2005). After lots of personal struggles, her most recent work includes one-shot guest spots on “Glee,” “Anger Management,” “Eastbound and Down,” “2 Broke Girls,” and playing Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime biopic, Liz & Dick. Actors rumored to star alongside her in Six Gun Dead are Mark Boone Junior (“Sons of Anarchy”), James Duval (Independence Day), Johnny Whitworth (“CSI: Miami”), Seymour Cassel (“Heist”), Kris Park, Jared Santinelli, and Danny Minnick.

In Six Gun Dead, “A prisoner is being held over night in a heavily guarded tombstone jail house when hordes of the undead attack the small Arizona town.”

Now, I do have to say – which explains the question mark at the end of the article headline – that there are some things about this production that seem a little fishy to me.

First of all, the estimated budget for the movie is $40,000,000. Would any studio really pour that much money into a horror film with no A-list cast members? Sure, everyone mentioned above have accomplished a lot and have a name about them, but it’s not like they’re Jennifer Lawrence or Brad Pitt. Secondly, director Darwin Brooks and his writers all have a dozen films that are currently in pre-production and another dozen that are announced. I find it hard to believe that they are all somehow tackling 24 films at one time. Lastly, the official Facebook page for this title has less than 30 followers and was created way back in 2011.

So, I’m going to wait until I get official confirmation to call this official news.
