George Miller, the man behind the Mad Max trilogy was on hand Sunday at Comic-Con to talk Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow’s upcoming sequel, Mad Max: Fury Road, and he brought some footage to show the crowd. Miller said the film isn’t exactly a sequel or prequel, but is Mad Max through and through.
Miller stated: “I was able to make the movie I wanted to make,” he told the standing-room-only Comic-Con crowd. “WB allows the filmmakers their process.”
Tom Hardy takes on the starring role this time, replacing Mel Gibson. Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, Hugh Keays-Byrne, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also star.
Mad Max: Fury Road is set to be released on May 15th, 2015.
Miller also unveiled four new character posters for the film.
