Disappointing news coming out of Rome today as legendary Italian horror director Dario Argento is reported to have fallen down a flight of stairs at his home in Rome, Italy. He is now recovering at his home.
Starburst Magazine is reporting, According to his manager, Paolo Zelati, the Italian has suffered injuries to his head, neck, back, ribs, and legs. This meant he had to spend some time in hospital, but is now home with his personal assistant caring for him.
Sitting, standing and walking are causing him immense pain and his physician has ordered him to rest until at least the end of July.
This unfortunate incident has meant the cancellation of his planned appearance at Indianapolis’ prestigious DAYS OF THE DEAD convention.
Argento is the writer/director of such genre classics as Suspiria, Deep Red, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, Tenebre, Phenomena, Opera, and many more. He is one of the best purveyors of the giallo genre of films.
We wish Dario Argento all the best and hope for a full and quick recovery.
