There will be no sounds of a terrifying chainsaw hacking it’s way through flesh, this time, but be prepared for chilling screams, as horror icon Dan Yeager (TCM 3D) joins the Kickstarter campaign for a new horror project called “Tawny” kicked off on June 15th. The creators Matthew Lopes (Director) and Jessee Foudray (Writer) plan to shoot Labor Day weekend of this year in Los Angeles. With 28 days remaining, the team behind this throwback 70s horror, is looking to reach their 12,000 goal.
Plot Crunch:
The story takes place on a hot summer night in Austin, TX, 1976. Tawny and her good friend Darla are out for a couple of beers to chew the fat about boyfriends, lecherous bosses and family problems. They encounter two charming men at the roller rink and decide to follow the party and see where the night takes them….and the night takes them down a dark, and dangerous path.
Playing “The Creeper” in this ambitious short film is horror icon Dan Yeager, who carried the Leatherface torch in “Texas Chainsaw 3D”. With talk of a new Texas Chainsaw sequel on the horizon, this stands to be a nice departure for Yeager, into the indie scene.
