I was just wondering how many of you saw this story circulating around the internet today. It was a top trending article on Yahoo.com and flooded all social media sites.
The rumor was… Charles Manson was granted parole.
Charles Manson and four of his followers, known as The Manson Family, planned and carried out the brutal slaying of actress Sharon Tate, her unborn baby, and her three friends on August 9, 1969.
Originally, Manson was sentenced to death by a Jury in 1971. However, California abolished the death penalty in 1972 and Manson’s verdict was reduced to life in prison. During his many interviews while in prison, he has gone as far as to deem himself “too dangerous to be released,” and doctors have diagnosed him with several psychological disorders. Since his incarceration began, he has been up for parole 12 times since then, all of which have been denied.
His latest parole hearing was in April of 2012 when a Judge ruled that Manson was still too big a threat to society and would not be eligible for parole again until 2027. And let’s hope he’s dead and rotting in Hell way before that.
With that said, today’s “breaking story” was clearly a hoax!
