World War Z had its fair share of naysayers, but I thoroughly enjoyed the film and if box office receipts mean anything, so did you guys. We’ve known for some time now there were plans for a sequel and today comes word of a writer that’s been hired to pen the film. Variety is reporting, Oscar-nominated scribe Steven Knight has been tapped to write Paramount and Skydance’s sequel to “World War Z.”
J.A. Bayona (“The Impossible”) will direct the zombie sequel, with Brad Pitt returning in the starring role. Plot details are being kept closely under wraps at this time.
Pitt will produce the apocalyptic tentpole alongside Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner for Plan B.
