Flying, Air Breathing ‘Piranha Sharks’ Set to Attack Manhattan!

PiranhaSharks2

When I’m bored and I don’t have any pressing news stories to share, I often find myself on IMDB.com searching actors pages for new developing horror titles. This is what I discovered last night: Piranha Sharks!

The animal kingdom is all sorts of fucked up lately. What with Dinocrocs, Piranhacondas, and Sharknados being some of the most recent biological and ecological disasters strangling citizens of the world in low-budget creature features in the last few years. And now we get to add Piranha Sharks to the list. Who knew that piranhas shared strands of DNA with all other aquatic critters.

Piranha Sharks is a feature film that is written and directed by Leigh Scott. Mr. Scott is a horror staple in terms of straight-to-video movies. Some of his previous works include The Beast of Bray Road (which I love!), Dracula’s Curse, Transmorphers, The Dunwich Horror, and one of my favorites – a short film titled The Scout.

Confirmed cast members include Collin Galyean, Ramona Mallory, Josh Hammond (Jeepers Creepers II, The Tripper), John Wells, Frederic Doss (Humans vs. Zombies, Pot Zombies II), GinaMarie Zimmerman (the racist from last year’s “Big Brother”), former WWE Superstarr Al Snow, Jessica Sonneborn (Dorothy and The Witches of Oz, Bloody Bloody Bible Camp), and many more.

In Piranha Sharks, “Great white sharks bio-engineered to be the size of piranhas with the purpose of living in rich peoples exotic aquariums, terrorize New York City when they get into the water supply and do what great white sharks do best.”

A trailer for Piranha Sharks debuted at the beginning of February. I’ve provided it for you all below. I don’t think it will be long before this title hits DVD shelves nation wide. The only question is: are you going to buy it? I’m about half and half right now…
