We’ve got the new red band trailer for Dario Argento’s Dracula 3D from IFC Midnight which features all the prerequisite things you’d expect from a Argento Dracula film – busty babes, eye-popping gore, and a giant praying mantis – wait, what? Word of mouth on this film have not been kind, to say the least but I’m willing to look past all that and give the Italian master of horror the respect he’s due, at least until I see for myself. ARGENTO’S DRACULA 3D is now playing in select theaters and available to watch on Cable VOD as well as digital outlets (including iTunes and SundanceNow).
The film was an official selection at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and was called “bloody entertaining” by Entertainment Weekly. The film features the iconic Rutger Hauer as vampire hunter Van Helsing and Asia Argento (daughter of Dario) as a local all-too-eager to fall under the Count’s sway. This classic vampire tale is drenched in gore and sex, and will surely get your heart racing.
Dracula 3D is co-written and directed by Dario Argento and stars Thomas Kretschmann as Count Dracula, Asia Argento, Marta Castini, Rutger Hauer as Van Helsing, Unax Ugalde and Miriam Giovanelli.
Plot Synopsis
Horror master Dario Argento returns with a bloody, luridly creepy 3D version of the classic vampire tale, drenched in gore and sex. An unsuspecting Englishman arrives in Transylvania, lured by a job with a local nobleman. But the undead Count Dracula’s real target is the man’s innocent young wife. Featuring the iconic Rutger Hauer as vampire hunter Van Helsing and the inimitable Asia Argento (the director’s own daughter) as a local all-too-eager to fall under the Count’s sway.
