We just reported a couple of days ago that writers were hired for the next installment of the ever popular Paranormal Activity franchise. Today, we have news the film has also found its director as well. Former editor and co-producer on the last three PA films, Gregory Plotkin has been hired to make his directorial debut on Paranormal Activity 5 for Paramount Pictures. Read on for more details.
Per Deadline, After serving as the editor and co-producer of the last three Paranormal Activity films and the spinoff The Marked Ones that is being released in January, Gregory Plotkin is going to make his directorial debut on Paranormal Activity 5.
He has a long list of credits as an editor or assistant editor on films that include Pleasantville, The Insider and The Break-Up. He has become more and more involved in the Paranormal Activity found-footage franchises. Now he gets his shot behind the camera.
Paranormal Activity 5 is being written by Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark. Jason Blum and Oren Peli are the producers.

I have to ask what other horror fans see in the Paranormal franchise? I just don’t see the appeal to movies shot through the eyes of night vision. Granted I have not seen the others and barely paid attention to the first so I’m kinda speaking outta turn but I am curious as to why people seem to really like these movies….
