We all know popular actor Elijah Wood most notably for portraying “Frodo” from the Lord of the Rings films, but he also has a dark side to him. Recently he portrayed a ruthless serial killer in the Maniac remake. You might also be surprised to know that Wood is a huge horror fan and has his own horror film production company called The Woodshed along with partners Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller. Word has come in today that Wood has changed the name of his production company to SpectreVision in order to rebrand and expand. You can read more information down below.
Deadline is reporting, The genre-leaning production company founded as The Woodshed in 2010 by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh C. Waller has undergone an identity change. The outfit has been rebranded SpectreVision and has also added a music division, teaming with Redbird Music Management’s Tim Husom to form SpectreVision Management. The name change reflects a wider scope as SpectreVision expands into music while continuing to build a film production portfolio.
“As our company began to expand its horizons, the name SpectreVision served to exemplify more our broadened platform: technology capturing the ineffable,” said Elijah Wood. Among SpectreVision’s current slate are horror-comedy Cooties starring Alison Pill and Rainn Wilson; Toad Road, which is set for a theatrical/VOD release this year by Artsploitation; and Iran-set vampire love story A Girl Walks Home At Night which is in post-production.
SpectreVision will again co-host the 30-day Nightmare City Horror Festival this October.
