“American Horror Story” returns for its third season in October as “AHS: Coven.” Kathy Bates joins the cast for this season’s witchy tale, which also features the return of Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson, who were in the first two seasons and again play new characters in season three.
The third season, which will also star actress Angela Bassett, is currently filming in New Orleans.
At a press conference today, executive producer Tim Minear — representing the producers who include Ryan Murphy (pictured at left with Bates and Lange on a Paleyfest panel earlier this year) — offered teases of what’s to come.
“We’re trying to keep some things close to the vest,” Minear said. “We’re at the beginning stage of shooting the show. We’d like to keep the surprises on screen.”
