UPDATE: July 3, 2013 – It seems that all charges against Veteran Nathaniel Richardson have been dropped and his soon-to-be ex wife, actress Shannon Guess, has been indicted for sending ricin laced letters to President Obama, as well as New York City Mayor Bloomberg and director of mayors against illegal guns Marke Glaze. She is officially charged with two counts of criminal activity and could face up to 15 years in prison. Guess has had very minor roles on “The Walking Dead,” “The Vampire Diaries,” and the Sandra Bullock film The Blind Side.

Just a little real life weirdness for the day.

Remember last month when letters poisoned with ricin were mailed to President Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg? Well, it seems that two people being investigated for the crime are a husband and wife…with the latter being an aspiring actress with bit parts on “The Walking Dead” and “The Vampire Diaries.”

Multiple sources are reporting that, allegedly, Veteran Nathaniel Richardson had mailed the poisoned letters to government officials; he became a suspect after his wife, Shannon Guess, discovered what looked like ricin in a bowl in the fridge. Upon investigation, the FBI discovered ricin making materials inside Richardson’s car.

But, wait, here’s where it gets weird. Richardson and Guess are in the middle of a divorce, and Richardson claims Guess is mentally unstable and has been accusing him of trying to poison her for years. He also claims that Guess concocted this whole scheme and is setting him up. Although both suspects have been released from custody, a polygraph test will be issued for each of them.

“The Walking Dead” has quite the erratic fan base these days. If they’re not shooting each other over character disagreements, or sending Laurie Holden death threats, it looks like they’re sending poisoned letters to our Congressmen.
