My name is Nick Peterson – a director with a project I’m excited to share, as it’s something new…something bizarre…something unprecedented. With my friend and collaborator Jon Heder (NAPOLEON DYNAMITE, BLADES OF GLORY), I am in the process of creating a short horror film – the story of which will be expanded and explored in a symbiotic video game. Ambitious for independent filmmakers? Perhaps, but we believe in pushing boundaries – and that true terror requires commitment and immersion.
Creature actor and horror icon Doug Jones (HELLBOY and HELLBOY 2, PAN’S LABYRINTH) will bring the Creature to life (so to speak!), with design and macabre make-up by effects legend Steve Wang (PREDATOR, EVIL DEAD II, AVPR – REQUIEM)
The film’s narrative takes place in the modern day, where a mother must protect her children from a demon intruder in the house – while the RPG set in the 1930’s dustbowl, explores the harsh conditions and the hard decisions that first summoned the monster into the world. It’s grim and unflinching story – which, as you can see from our past works (link below), is right in our wheelhouse.
It’s a project that inspires passion in everyone involved, and we’re excited to share it. We know that what we’re doing is unique in the independent arena, but we believe in using ALL of the storytelling tools at our disposal to create something truly immersive – and truly frightening.
