‘Frankenstein’s Army’ Release Date Set

I’ve been reporting on Frankenstein’s Army for a while now, but word came out today of when we might actually get to see this sucker.   Read on for all the official details!

Frankenstein’s Army is directed by Richard Raaphorst and stars Karel Roden, Joshua Sasse, Robert Gwilym, Alexander Mercury, Luke Newberry, Hon Ping Tang, and Cristina Catalina.

Dark Sky Films today announced that it will open writer-director Richard Raaphorst’s FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY in select cities July 26th. The highly anticipated film, which recently screened to acclaim at the Tribeca Film Festival, is a co-production of MPI/Dark Sky Films, Los Angeles-based XYZ Films, and Pellicola of Amsterdam.

Filmed in Prague, FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY marks the feature debut of Dutch director Richard Raaphorst and has already received high critical acclaim.

FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY is the latest addition to MPI/Dark Sky Films’ acclaimed original high-end genre productions. The company was also behind highly praised genre films such as Ti West’s The Innkeepers and The House of the Devil , Adam Green’s Hatchet II and upcoming Hatchet III, the upcoming Late Phases, and also Jim Mickle’s Stake Land.

Plot Synopsis

Frankenstein’s Army takes place toward the end of World War II as Russian soldiers push into eastern Germany and stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Viktor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein’s work to assemble an army of super-soldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades – a desperate Hitler’s last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.
