Even though director Adam Albrandt and Anthony Curry have been plugging the Hell out of this fundraiser on Facebook, the campaign still looks like it needs a little help. I can’t think of a more deserving project that horror fans should donate their cash too. Adam Albrandt is on my list of best up-and-coming directors in the horror scene. He’s recently released two indie features so far; Cemetery, and Cross Bearer, which was one of the better slasher films that I viewed last year. In my review of Cross Bearer I noted that Adam could become the next Rob Zombie in terms of dark and horrific film film making.
It would appear that Albrandt is ready to launch his next horror film, titled The Hunters, but he needs a little extra funds to achieve this goal. The Hunters is, “based around a group of film students who set out to scout a rural Pennsylvania town that has been abandoned due to a mine fire raging underneath it. Little do they know they are about to fall victim to another group of film makers who are making their own, more sinister film.” The team behind the film promises that it will be a gory and hardcore flick with kidnapping, torture, rape, and murder. It will also incorporate the use of VHS cameras, a real throwback to most horror fans.
So, this is where you come in. The Hunters’ indiegogo campaign is trying to attain $2,000 in extra funds, with the campaign reaching its end in 53 days. I’ve been watching it for a bit and the goal has been stuck at $196 for a few days now. Your hard earned money will go to helping with food, lodging, tape costs, special FX, music, and getting vintage cars.
