Guillermo del Toro is readying his latest feature from Legendary Pictures, the Summer blockbuster tentpole film, Pacific Rim. He’s also busy prepping his follow-up film for Legendary Pictures, the gothic horror film Crimson Peak.
We have some casting news for you on that picture as Jessica Chastain (Mama, Zero Dark Thirty) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) have both signed on to the film and will join already cast Emma Stone (Zombieland, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, A February 2014 production start date is planned. Universal Pictures retains an option to join Legendary as a financier at a later date.
The gothic horror story centers on a woman who discovers that her husband might not be whom he appears to be.
Details on who is playing whom were not revealed. Del Toro wrote the script with Matthew Robbins; Lucinda Coxon recently did a rewrite.
