In more casting news for Legendary Pictures’ reboot of Godzilla, we have word that David Strathairn is in negotiations to join the cast as some type of military figure, as details are being kept under wraps for now.
Variety is reporting, After helping defend Abraham Lincoln from evil congressmen, “Lincoln” thesp David Strathairn looks to be ready to fight a different kind of monster.
Strathairn is in talks to join the cast of Legendary’s “Godzilla” reboot. Strathairn would join previously announced Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, and Bryan Cranston, who are also currently in talks, with Gareth Edwards attached to direct.
Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce along with Mary Parent, who helped produce “Pacific Rim” for Legendary. Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham penned the script.
Character descriptions, along with other plot details, are under wraps for now but sources say Strathairn would be playing a military figure. Warner Bros. will handle distribution.
