Toronto artist Sabrina Parolin is an illustrator, a meticulous crafter and clearly a monster lover. Her latest batch of stickers is definitely something to scream about. She designs and hand-cuts each sticker herself, and her recent batch reflects the EVIL DEAD series. Beware! These characters may try to swallow your soul from any objects to which they may have been adhered.
Cruising on to her Etsy shop, one will find: EVIL DEAD pack of 5 stickers, THE THING pack of 3 stickers, and THE MONSTER SQUAD pack of 5 stickers, all for well under $8. Making embroidery cool with embroidered Dracula & Frankenstein wall art, as well as embroidered works of the Twin Peaks logo, E.T., Predator, and a scene from THE SHINING.
My personal favorite piece of Sabrina’s is pictured on her “Saucers Over Hollywood” Tumblr page that this reviewer follows. It’s a very detailed embroidered pattern of BACK TO THE FUTURE’s George McFly! Strangely bright and cheery, the beloved statement, “I’M YOUR DENSITY” floats next to his head. Amazing stuff. Gone are the days of embroidered flowers and bears holding balloons, especially if Sabrina Parolin has anything to say about it! She could probably make extra money selling the patterns eventually, who knows? Seriously, who wants a bear when they can have George McFly!?!
