Generic, juvenile, underdeveloped. Those are a couple of words that could be used to describe Cry Wolf. Does that make the movie a bad one? In my opinion, no. I liked the movie for what is was and what it tried to do. The movie took advantage of the times. Times where IM’s, Internet and computers were all the rage. A bunch of bored high school kids creating a game that becomes horrifically all to real using the very same technology that they use on a daily basis. I can see why they would think a movie like this would work.
For all the not so thrilling scenes Cry Wolf provided, the story itself wasn’t all that bad. Within the game itself was a girl getting revenge on her cheating boyfriend and that ended up being the most interesting aspect of the entire movie. The movie also had a very smart twist at the end which I really liked and didn’t see coming. For all the plot points that the movie gave away as part it’s storyline, I still think the movie was creative enough to get away with it. Cry Wolf didn’t blow me away, not in the least but I still think it’s a movie worth watching. If not for the simple fact that Jon Bon Jovi plays a very important part in the movie. And I just so happen to be a fan.
