Mirrors 2

Mirrors 2, released Oct. 2010, stars Nick Stahl, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Evan Jones, Christy Carlson Romano and William Kat. Filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this film follows the story of Max Matheson (Stahl.) While driving on the road with his fiancee, Max has a serious car accident, which kills both. Max, however, is resuscitated, and one year later, he is an emotionally disturbed man with a guilt complex for the murder of his fiancee. His father, Jack Matheson (Kat), is reopening the Mayflower Department Store in New Orleans. When his (Jack) security guard has an accident, Jack invites his son to replace him, hoping to cure his slump.

On his first day, Max, is introduced to the store manager, Keller Landreaux (Lawrence Turner); the buyer, Jeanna McCarty (Christy Romano); and the vice president of operations, Ryan Parker (Jon Michael Davis.) Soon after working at the Mayflower, Max begins to have visions of a mysterious woman who is haunting the store mirrors. Max learns the woman is a missing story employee named Eleanor Reigns (Stephanie Honore). When Max starts having visions of Jenny and Ryan’s deaths, he contacts the missing employee’s sister. Together the two of them must discover the mysteries of the mirrors before it’s too late. This direct to DVD sequel follows the same storyline of its predecessor – visions of murders seen in the reflection of mirrors. I enjoyed watching this sequel to the 2008 release of Mirrors. In fact, I enjoyed the sequel more than the original. The characters are well-acted except for the psychiatrist who I found boring since she spewed out nothing but trivial revelations, and didn’t contribute to the plot whatsoever.

Bottom line: Definitely recommend watching this one. If you find yourself stuck inside on a cold winter’s day, why not watch both of them back to back.
