Tiffany Shepis Interview

LDR) What are your first recollections of the horror genre? What was the first movie to really scare you and introduce you to the genre?

TS)That my mom wouldn’t let me watch “Children of the Corn” for some odd reason. All other horror flicks were ok but not that one. Still to this day I don’t know why. I can’t remember what movie introduced me to the horror genre but I was a fan from as far back as I can remember. Even stuff like “I Spit on Your Grave”, (not really suitable for little girls) but I watched it when my older brother had some friends over and was like”kill those fuckers!”, “more blood…more blood”! Yeah kind of a freak:) And who didn’t love the first Elm Street when they were a child? So I suppose I have my sick and twisted brother Pete to thank for getting me in to this crazy ass profession.

LDR) Has horror always been your first love, or do you feel typecast? How did you get into acting?

TS)Read above….but it was ALWAYS my first love. I have said it time and time again. I have never wanted to win an Oscar, my only goal for my career is to make one bad ass horror film that reaches a more mainstream audience. Ya know, see that shit up on the big screen (for longer than a week).

LDR) Out of all the directors you’ve worked with, who’s your favorite? Who would you like to work with in the future?

TS)Rolfe Kanefsky. He’s my homie and in my opinion made my 2 best films,”The Hazing” and “Nightmare Man”.

LDR) You’ve worked with horror icons Lance Henriksen and Brad Dourif. What other horror icons would you like to work with?

TS)I’ve also worked with Jeffery Combs and Bill Mosley. I’d like to work with Doug Bradley…he’s just cool. Maybe in Hellraiser 19:)

LDR) I’ve seen and own quite a few of your movies. The Hazing, Detour, Scarecrow, Abominable, and Bloody Murder 2 to name a few. Bloody Murder 2 was my favorite, what has been yours?

TS)I liked Bloody Murder 2 alot as well. I thought it was a fun movie. My favorite has to be “The Hazing” though.

LDR) What do you think about the current state of “mainstream” horror and all the PG13 rated films being released?

TS)I think it’s ok just because Horror is finally considered to be”mainstream” and studios finally putting money into this stuff is fantastic and to be able to reach that type of audience with it is great.

LDR) What do you think of the recent crop of remakes, and what about Rob Zombie remaking the classic Halloween?

TS)I’m not really a fan of the remake stuff….like “Hills Have Eyes” or”Chainsaw” only because they didn’t cast the original guys in cameos… I thought that was kind of sucky. Zombie doing the new “Halloween”?? I’d love a part in it!!:)

LDR) Of all the woman of horror, who are your major influences?

TS)I’m a big fan of Brinke Stevens, and Mindy Clarke blew me away in Return of the Living Dead 3!

LDR) How do you feel about being considered a Scream Queen? Do you consider it to be an honor?

TS)Fuck yeah it’s an honor!!! There are plenty of worse things one could call me:)

LDR) What’s your favorite horror film?

TS)Too many to list.

LDR) What does the future hold for Tiffany Shepis? What future projects are on the horizon?

TS)Starting “Dark Reel” with Lance Henrickson, Ed Furlong and Tony Todd. I’m very excited about that one. I’m waiting on the release of “Nympha” and “Pretty Cool 2”. Oh, and I’m about to go have some cocktails:)

  1. Holy crap what a boring interview. What is this, People Magazine? Not a single question about her getting naked in so many movies? Why else would anyone read this?
