REVIEW: Mail Order Bride
Mail Order Bride is one of the latest movies from Steel Web Studios. Steel Web is notorious for their hardcore horror hit Slaughter Disc. A tale of horror, porn, and a chick that will eat you alive. Literally!
Their newest flick is mail Order Bride, nothing like the previous but even better in my opinion. Mail Order Bride is the story of a lonely man who is just looking for some female companionship and discovers that through the mail. Our guy orders a female robot through a company that specializes in giving you exactly what you want. Women that will do everything you need, and then some. All you have to do is program her. Throw in some XXX movies and let her watch and she programs herself. How cool is that. But of course something goes wrong and all hell breaks loose. Apparently she can not seem to handle all of the violence that plagues us these days (horror movie marathon) and takes everything she see into her mind and lets it all loose on the world.
More or less.
This flick is actually real good. Funny premise to the story and it seemed to be well thought out and written. It has its moments of stupidity but most of it is planned out that way. David Quitmeyer (the director) did a good job of getting the actors to be believable and for the most part they seemed to flow on the screen and not flub up. Some movies I’ve seen lately could take a few hints and suggestions from the actors on MOB, more on those later!
Mail Order Bride does a good job of mixing the sexiness and the gore together without it being over the top. Most of the movie centers on the main character and how lonely he is and seems to loose touch with the outside world after spending so much time with his new bride. Understandable since the bride is rather hot. She does a good job of being robot like without seeming to be stiff and not trying so hard.
Throughout the movie several scenes stand out other than the shower scene, and most of them have some decent gore and effects to them. The film is well written, has a good storyline, and edited well too. Nice job on that too David. Steel Web Studios has put together a good movie and it looks like they have more on the way. From what they have told me is that there is something in the works that will be much better than this or Slaughter Disc. Hopefully we will have more about that one soon.
This is a good little flick to watch some night you have about an hour to kill. Worth the money to buy it too. Check it out sometime. More photos and synopsis here:
