HorrorSociety.com is proud to announce our second indie horror film festival…and this time its gonna be a brutal one!
We pulled off the first one in Cincinnati, Ohio. One of the most conservative cities in the midwest! Now its time to unleash the HORROR in the city of Chicago!

From NOON until MIDNIGHT the Portage Theater will be drenched in Blood and Gore as we present the “Horror Society Film Festival”
This festival will bring you titles never before seen on the big screen, and hell some of them probably should be outlawed, but we have strong stomachs here at HorrorSociety and we are big fans of GORE. So we have decided to give these filmmakers their shot and get these titles shown to the public. Most of the films that will be shown are filled with the most extreme horror, special effects, brutal and ultra-violent storylines, and some shit that just has to be seen and can never truly be explained.
We are unleashing the GORE on Chicago, so be prepared! And yes, with every ticket purchased, you will recieve you own BARF BAG, just in case you need it!!
Saturday, October 11, from NOON to MIDNIGHT at the Portage Theater in Chicago! Check below for directions to the theater.

Charles Band is headed to a city near you with his 3rd Annual Full Moon Horror Road Show. Most people recognize him for his PUPPETMASTER series. I used to love to stay up late and watch those puppets creeping around killing people. I still have my Pinhead and Leech Lady figures somewhere. But Blade was my favorite.
PUPPETMASTER is still the highest marketed movie franchise in the independent (direct to video) catergory. Another one you might remember is his Trancer series staring Helen hunt or perhaps you remember him as the executive producer on Ghoulies. Whatever the case he is remembered.

Starting on May 24th Charles Band is hitting the highway with his Full Moon Road Show and the first stop is Tempe Arizona. You need to see it to believe it. Here at HorrorSociety we will give you a set of tickets to the show of your choice.

(HOLLYWOOD) Charles Band, founder of sci fi/horror movie studio Full Moon Features and whose 270 plus films has established him as one of Hollywood’s most successful and prolific cult movie impresarios, has announced that he will stage the 3rd incarnation of his FULL MOON HORROR ROAD SHOW this summer.
This one night only show is a horror-palooza of sorts. Cult Horror Film Director Charles Band packs his shows to the brim with puppets, creatures and rare film clips. For horror movie fans and fans of the PUPPETMASTER film series, this event will feature unique interactive audience participations on stage, upcoming new release film trailers by Full Moon Features, surprise celebrity guest appearances, original puppet and doll auctions, hot chicks, unique merchandise and novelty items and live special effects demonstrations!!
CHARLES BAND
A pioneer in the field of home video, Band has built a reputation as a prolific and frequent director of entertaining low-budget genre films. Band has produced a string of features variously delving into the realms of horror, sci-fi and fantasy. “The Puppetmaster Series” may be his most celebrated and popular franchise. 8 Puppetmaster features have been released to date and the franchise is known as the most successful independent direct to video horror film series of all time. Full Moon has also created many other well know franchises such as the TRANCERS series starring Helen Hunt and Tim Thomerson, the SUBSPECIES series shot on location in Transylvania Romania as well as DOLLMAN, DEMONIC TOYS, KILLLJOY and THE GINGERDEADMAN (starring Gary Busey as a killer cookie!). In addition to all the feature film work FULL MOON is also very active in creating and marketing a wide variety of merchandise including original action figures, resin statues and 1:1 scale replicas of its more well known puppets and dolls.“The show is absolutely unique and totally unpredictable! It’s extremely interactive and I’m really excited to get back on the road and have fun with all the fans. The event really gets crazier every year – I feel a bit like those travelling turn of the century magicians who went from city to city doing bizarre stuff on stage. And I’m very lucky that there are so many fans out who like my films and enjoy coming to the show!”

The Future Fire
Quarterly small press magazine The Future Fire which is subtitled “Speculative Fiction and Dark Fantasy,” is running a short story contest with a $500 first prize.
The deadline is 10 December 2007, and the length limit is 2,000 words, but one of the keys to this contest is that entrants must log in to Second Life, visit a specific site (the Black Swan sim), and then write a story based on their experiences there. “The story may be in any genre on any topic, but there must be some discernible link to The Black Swan artwork. Bear in mind also that The Future Fire tends to prefer speculative and dark stories with a social conscience that confound the reader’s expectations. Quality will be the deciding factor in all judgements regarding this competition.”
Full entry requirements and details are available on this page.
UK SF Book News notes that the magazine has “an emphasis on the slipstream and socially responsible storytelling.” Talking to UKSFBN, Future Fire editor Djibril says “There’s a small technical barrier to entry, but no cost involved: the contest requires you to register and enter the Second Life virtual world and visit the Black Swan sim, which is a spooky, atmospheric island with a raised pathway, sculptures, events, and inhabitants. Visit for as long and as often as you like, and then write a story inspired by your experience.

A Day of Greasy Horror
Horror film Kentucky Fried Horror Show Announces Call for Entries for the “A Day of Greasy Horror” contest!
Deadest Contestant to Win Speaking Part and Trip for Two to the Premiere.
Los Angeles, CA (rushprnews) November 2, 2007– Kentucky Fried Horror Show, the much anticipated motion picture that stars Scarlett Pomers, Brad Dourif, and Playboy model Rachael Robbins, set for shooting spring of 08’, already has such a massive 500,000 and growing fan base, that the producers are thanking their fans with a death wish contest. With a Shoreline Entertainment distribution deal in place, the film is sure to reach a worldwide audience.
Currently the filmmakers have more than 125,000 submissions from people all over the world who want a chance to fake their death before the cameras. The director, C.L. Gregory, says, “It seems that the desire for pain and death is not at all dead. But also, fans want to have fun expressing their darkest sides.”
The winning contestant will be rewarded a speaking part in the film, but to win, he/she must first die; or at the very least, demonstrate a gory imagination. The contest has also drawn its share of critics who believe the filmmakers are glorifying violence, since participants must write a short paragraph on how they would kill someone or personally die, in detail.
The bloodier and gorier they can kill or die, the better the odds of winning are for the contestants. Executive Producer Rik Walters states, “This is a worldwide contest to thank the fans of Kentucky Fried Horror Show and for those who are passionate about horror films.”
The contest, which began September 25,h 2007 at midnight, seeks to capture what many independent films are fighting for today– the imagination of the public and consumer spending. In a market that has become oversaturated with horror films, not to mention the lackluster past summer at the box office for the horror genre, the producers of the Kentucky Fried Horror Show are betting they can change the tide with their latest endeavor/ And, judging by the sheer numbers, they are already doing just that.
More than 500,000 Europeans have already signed online petitions to premiere the movie in the U.K. and, by the current count, the numbers are only rising for this film that has yet to shoot a single frame.
In a time where some are calling for congressional intervention against the growing number of horror films depicting violence, the makers of Kentucky Fried Horror are hoping that horror fans will jump on board and be their darkest when it comes to their expressing their violent fantasies.
The contest is simple:
One Grand prize winner will land a speaking part in the film, attend the premiere with their family and receive a cast-signed copy of the script!
To win the prize, contestants must write a short paragraph of death and mutilation and send pictures of the reenacted scene. Five lucky winners will be allowed to be on set for filming and meeting the cast of the film. They will meet Director and Writer, C. L. Gregory, who will give them each a signed copy of the script.
The winners, along with a guardian or parent (if under 18), will travel to Kentucky for the ultimate Horror fan’s dream holiday. The grand prize includes return economy air fare for two from the nearest international airport to the winner’s home, 2-night accommodations, airport and hotel transfers and 2 passes each to the Kentucky Fried Horror Show set (approximate value $5000 U.S.)

“What would happen if the dead walked the earth? Oh sure, at first there’s be the stalking and the screaming, but after they managed to kill off all the living, what would they do with the rest of their un-life?
Your job is to show a typical day in a world where the dead rule.
