Tom Neyman, the actor and father most known for playing the role of The Master in Manos: The Hands of Fate, passed away last night, November 12, 2016. The news was confirmed by his daughter, Jackey Raye Neyman Jones, in a Facebook post that reads: “My dad, The Master from Manos The Hands of Fate passed away last night when his heart stopped. He has now transcended to become Manos. I miss my dad. He was such a gentle, sweet, humble and loving man.”
He was just shy of his 81st birthday.
When Manos: The Hands of Fate was released in 1966, it was dubbed dubbed one of the worst movies of all time and still appears on many “bottom movies” lists. In recent years, however, the B-horror movie has amassed an impressive cult following and Tom was adored by those followers who thoroughly enjoyed his wacky performance as The Master. Neyman also served as a art designer and costume designer on the flick, according to IMDB.
Recently, Tom and Jackey returned to their roles in a sequel, Manos Returns, which is due for release in 2017 from director Tonjia Atomic.
Tom’s legacy is forever cemented to Manos and because of its cult following, he’ll never truly die. Generations to come will still get to know and love him when they dare to watch “the worst movie of all time.” All of us here at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
