Where Are They Now? : Jason Patric

As our favorite cult classics get riper with age, unfortunately we start to lose the cast members who helped the titles come to prominence. As with the case of The Lost Boys, we’ve already lost Barnard “Grandpa” Hughes in 2006, Corey “Sam” Haim in 2010, Edward “Max” Herrmann in 2014 and Brooke “Paul” McCarter in 2015. So, with this installment in my Where Are They Now column, I’d like to update fans on another Lost Boys cast member while he’s still alive and kicking serious ass in the entertainment industry.

Jason Patric was born in Queens in June of 1966. In the mid 80’s he started working behind-the-scenes in pictures, but eventually started acting with his second credited role being one of the lead’s in scifi’s Solarbabies (1986). A year later he landed the role of Michael in The Lost Boys, followed by the supporting role of Lord Byron in Roger Corman’s Frankenstein Unbound and a small part in Teach 109 both in 1990. Unfortunately these would be his only roles in our favorite genres of film for quite some time.

Following his gigs with horror and scifi, Patric started booking roles in hit films and Oscar Nominees such as Geronimo: An American Legend (1993), Sleepers (1996), Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997) opposite Sandra Bullock, The Alamo (2004) alongside Billy Bob Thorton and Dennis Quad and In the Valley of Elah (2007) alongside Charlize Theron, Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones.

So, where is Jason Patric now?

Although he continued to act routinely, nothing of great interest occurred until the 2010’s decade. He kept on with his lead and supporting roles in hit films like The Losers (2010) with Idris Elba and Zoe Saldana, Caveman (2013) Camilla Bell and Chad Michael Murray and The Prince (2014) with Bruce Willis and John Cusak. Also, Jason returned to horror for the first time in over 25 years with a supporting role in The Abandoned (2015).
