After working together on various indie horror hits like Camp Massacre, Don’t Look in the Basement 2, The Hospital and The Hospital 2, Jim O’Rear and Scott Tepperman have officially joined forces to kickstart their own production company – Los Bastardz Productions. I couldn’t think of a better title for these two gentlemen, and you’re going to start hearing more about this joint venture as O’Rear and Tepperman have already begun pre-production on their first film together, titled Nightblade.
Although the company and this project in particular started just three weeks ago, casting choices have already been announced. Please welcome Betsy Rue, Robert LaSardo and MarieJane (aka Kayla Marie) to the cast of Nightblade. Betsy Rue is most known for her roles in My Blood Valentine (2009) and Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 (2009) as well her recurring role on “Fake It Til You Make It.” Robert LaSardo is most known for his roles in Death Race (2008) and Waterworld as well as his recurring role on “Nip/Tuck.” MarieJane is a popular cosplayer, model and pole dancer who is looking to make her big screen debut!
Nightblade is written and will be produced and directed by Jim O’Rear and Scott Tepperman. Both men will also appear in the movie that’ll begin principal photography sometime in 2016.
The synopsis of this upcoming title is currently being kept under wraps, but judging by the title – I’d wager a guess that it’s going to have a retro action-horror vibe to it. Stay tuned to see if I’m right…or dead wrong. In either case, horror fans can expect Nightblade to be nice and bloody because Jim O’Rear never fails to deliver…
