Sources have just announced that Jaime Ray Newman has checked into “Bates Motel,” and will be playing a major recurring role in season four of the popular A&E series. Her character is named as Rebecca Hamilton, a former flame of Alex Romero (played by Nestor Carbonell) who may potentially look to reignite that flame again. It looks like the showrunners are trying to add more drama and romance to the series instead of focusing more on, ya know, the horror and suspense aspects.
Jaime Ray Newman is known for other recurring roles on television including popular shows like “Drop Dead Diva,” “Eastwick,” “Eureka,” “General Hospital,” “Grimm,” “Lincoln Heights,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Stargate: Atlantis” and “Veronica Mars.”
Newman joins the cast comprised of Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke, Nestor Carbonell and Kenny Johnson.
“Bates Motel” is due to return to A&E for season four in the third quarter of 2016. The series serves as a prequel to the iconic horror film, Psycho.
