MarVista Entertainment, a leading independent producer and distributor of features and family entertainment programming, has acquired the global distribution rights to 3rd Films Terrordactyl in the run up to the upcoming American Film Market. The announcement was made today by Vanessa Shapiro, EVP, Distribution, MarVista Entertainment, and Stephanie Slack, SVP, Acquisitions and Co-productions, MarVista Entertainment.
“MarVista has had great success with titles in the vein of Terrordactyl in the global market, and we are excited to have signed our agreement with 3rd Films to launch this movie at AFM for all our buyers,” commented Shapiro.
“Terrordactyl features two ordinary guys facing an extraordinary situation—flying reptiles who cause chaos across Hollywood—it’s a creature feature like you’ve never seen before, and the making for a fantastic franchise,” added Slack, who negotiated the acquisition for MarVista.

Terrordactyl is directed by newcomers Don Bitters III and Geoff Reisner, working from a script by Bitters who has previously worked as a visual effects artist on television shows such as Betas, House of Cards, Quantico and Supergirl. Reisner has previously worked as a cinematographer on features including Crossroad and No Greater Love. Terrordactyl is produced by Eric Edmonds with Bitters, Reisner, Christopher Jennings, Lucas Solomon and Thomas P. Jennings serving as EPs.
When a meteor shower rains down outside Los Angeles, Jonas (Jason Tobias) and Lars (Christopher John Jennings), two friends stuck in tired, boring lives, head out to find a meteor and strike it rich. After recovering one, they start being stalked by terrordactyls, ancient flying reptiles that launch a full-on assault on the city. Trying to survive, they go on the run where the unlikely heroes, along with Candice (Candice Nunes), a tough-and-sexy bartender, Valerie (Bianca Haase), her sultry roommate, and Sampson (Jack E. Curenton), a constantly drunk and brash ex-marine, soon discover that there’s more to the meteor than meets the eye.
