I found out about this five minute short film through the social media grapevine and I gave it a watch before posting. Maggie vs. Evil Dead is a fun, self-aware horror-comedy following Maggie Carr’s “Ash vs Evil Dead” home audition video, one such audition that doesn’t go nearly as planned. It’s got a lot of Scary Movie elements in it, awesome special effects and near perfect acting. It’s definitively a groovy time.
Maggie vs. Evil Dead is written and directed by Bailey Donovan with Maggie Carr. Carr also stars in the film, obviously, alongside Nick LaMantia (All Saints Eve, Everyone Must Die!), Joel Donovan and Dan Sotak, Hayley Nielsen, John Feightner, Connor Mccanlus, Drew Palajsa, Melinda Neyman and Cody Walsh.
