After this week, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to refer to Chris Greene as an indie actor anymore! He began his career in the entertainment industry in 2004 when he started appearing as a background extra in a number of films. Fast forward to 2011 and he was appearing in independent feature films in a supporting or lead role, including titles such as What They Seem, Subprime, Mistaking Spell and Wilding. It was during this time that I came acquainted with him through HorrorSociety.com due to his two horror themed, self produced short films B.F.F. and Unbridled Chaos.
Now, Greene is forging ahead with another important part of his acting career that sees him transitioning from the world of independent film to budgeted, true Hollywood productions. Within the last few months he was a guest star on an episode of VH1’s “Single Ladies” and FOX’s Headless Horseman drama “Sleepy Hollow.” It was also exclusively confirmed to me yesterday that Greene has successfully booked a role in the upcoming horror film to be distributed by Paramount Pictures, Rings.
Rings is the third entry in The Ring franchise, the American version of a popular Japanese horror film franchise. The film is being directed by F. Javier Gutierrez with appearances from Aimee Teegarden, Johnny Galecki, Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe and David Dorfman. Chris Greene will be playing the role of a cop in Rings. Although he is keeping specifics and details under wraps, he assures me that it’ll be a more important feature than just a background extra. It doesn’t matter if you have three scenes or two lines, we’re proud of you none the less!
Congratulations, Chris, and have fun on set this week!
