Katie Cassidy was born in November 1986, the daughter of “Partridge Family” star David Cassidy and super model Sherry Williams. She was always a multi-talented girl who enjoyed playing the guitar and the piano, and exploring other areas of the arts. Eventually, though, she took after her mother and started modeling in the fashion industry. From there, she followed the same path of dozens of other women and started booking roles in feature films and television series. It wasn’t long until she started appearing in many films that we’re iffy about, but definitely remember!
Cassidy was perhaps one of the most recognizable faces during the explosive horror remake period. She was in three horror remakes playing lead roles as Tiffany in When A Stranger Calls (2006), Kelli in Black Christmas (2006), and A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010). During this time she also appeared in The Loft (2006), played the recurring role of Ruby on the hit CW series, “Supernatural,” from 2007 to 2008 as well as playing the lead, Trish, on the one season show “Harper’s Island” in 2009.”
So, where is Katie Cassidy now?
After finishing up with A Nightmare on Elm Street in 2010, she quickly booked a recurring role on another CW show, “Gossip Girl,” from 2010 to 2012. She was also supporting cast in the Selena Gomez movie, Monte Carlo (2011), and a guest spot on an episode of “New Girl” later that year. Finally, she returned to the science fiction genre at least as the lead role of Laurel/the Black Canary in the superhero drama “Arrow” from 2012 to the present.
Katie is also a fashion blogger and has even created her own line of eye-wear.
