James Marsters to Voice Male Lead in ABRUPTIO
Sweet Home Films is bringing the art of puppetry back to the big screen with Abruptio, a horror/thriller acted entirely with lifelike puppets. James Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel”) will voice the male lead character Les Hackel, a guy down on his luck who wakes to find an explosive device has been implanted in his neck. He must carry out heinous crimes in order to stay alive, while trying to unravel the mystery behind the mastermind manipulating the now twisted and strange world around him. The film was penned by Evan Marlowe (“Blood Rush”) who is also set to direct.
Abruptio is bringing back a form of cinema that has been somewhat lost with so many current films relying heavily on CGI. A fan of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, Marlowe hopes to do this art form justice while catering to a broader audience. Evan’s wife, Kerry Marlowe, and Martin Lee White will be producing this exciting new project, with Janine Hook, a London-based artist and puppet maker, designing and creating the characters. With production scheduled to begin later this year in Los Angeles, audiences can anticipate a crazy and wild ride which Abruptio promises to bring.
