It’s been a long time since any concrete news was reported in regards to “Scream: The TV Series.” Now that the production of a new trilogy which was rumored to start with Scream 4 has been cancelled for the foreseeable future, owners of the iconic franchise are turning to MTV in hopes of keeping the nightmares alive. After the success of “Teen Wolf,” MTV was very interested in booking “Scream: The TV Series,” and ordered a pilot into pre-production this June.. And it seems that the series may be receiving the green light.

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to the new faces who will be caring on what Sidney Prescott, Dewey Riley, and Gale Weathers started in 1996. These actors have officially been chosen to headline and support the freshman series destined for MTV this fall or early next year.

Amy Forsyth (Torment, “Defiance”) will be playing the lead role of Audrey, the daughter of a religious pastor who also aspires to be a filmmaker. John Karna will play Noah Foster, Audrey’s best friend and a computer genius. Carlson Young (“True Blood,” “Big Time Rush”) will be playing Brooke Maddox, the token popular girl and sex kitten of the group. Amadeus Serafini will play Kieran Wilcox, the new kid in town and a wise bad boy.

It was also confirmed that Wes Craven will not be directing the pilot and it appears that he will only be executively producing the television series as of this writing. Instead, the series will be produced by MTV in conjunction with The Weinstein Co., Marianne Maddalena, Cathy Konrad, and Craven.

Jill Blotevogel (“Stephen King’s The Dead Zone,” “Ravenswood”) has been tapped as the show-runner for the pilot episode.

“Scream: The TV Series” will follow a viral video that affects a small town in disastrous and murderous ways.

  1. But the one in that pic is Katharine Isabelle isn’t she? Confusing. It was exciting to think she was going to be the female lead.
