Deadly Beauty: Horror’s Scream Queens and Rising Talent: Kaylee Williams

228512_2046461124091_3305615_n“Kaylee Williams was born on January 23. Williams grew up as a shy and introverted girl in a northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Prompted by a dare from some of her friends, Kaylee decided to try out for a school play during her freshman year of high school and subsequently caught the acting bug. Williams acted in theater productions for several years and posed for photo shoots with local photographers around the same time she began acting in films.

A well liked and established scream queen in the horror genre, Kaylee was nominated for Best Actress in a Short for her lead role in The Many Monsters of Sarah Roth at the 2010 Oklahoma Horror Film Fest and won for Best Actress in an Anthology or Collection by NerdRemix’s Best of 2012 Awards for her role in the segment “Anti-Bodies” in the horror anthology Psycho Street.

Moreover, Williams is an avid hockey fan who has trained with the stunt group Asylum Stunts in Chicago.”*

Location: I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, which is where I still reside.

1. How did you get into the industry?

On a dare actually, haha. Growing up, I was extremely shy and introverted so being a performer was never on my list of potential career choices. In high school, several of my friends dared me to try out for the school play. I remember being so nervous that I was shaking like a leaf while I was waiting for my turn to audition. But when I got up on stage, I felt this sense of calm come over me. It was at that moment that I realized that that was where I was meant to be. I actually feel more comfortable and more myself when I’m on stage or in front of a camera. Performing is what I was born to do. I just didn’t know it until a random dare back in high school brought me to that realization.

2. What Scream Queen inspired you most?

I have to say that Debbie Rochon is a huge inspiration to me.

3. What are the next couple projects you are working on?

Well I don’t like to say too much about upcoming projects because I don’t want to jinx anything, but keep an eye on my Facebook page to see what films I have coming up next! I’m also currently performing in four shows at Gorilla Tango Theatre in Chicago and I just started rehearsing for a show called “Romeo and Juliet, 10 Years Later.” To find out where and when I am performing and how to get tickets to my shows, click here!
