Teller brings the film of his off-Broadway spookshow to LA, and TALKS about it!
The American Cinematheque is proud to present Teller (Penn & Teller) with the feature film of his off-Broadway show, PLAY DEAD, at the Aero Theatre on Friday, January 4th, at 7:30 pm, along with a 35mm print screening of the Arthur Penn–helmed PENN & TELLER GET KILLED.
Shot during the final weeks of performances at the Players Theatre in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, Teller’s PLAY DEAD revives classic 1950s spookshows as Coney Island showman Todd Robbins thrills live audiences with gory ghastly spectacles surrounding real-life killers and psychic pranksters. Expect brutal onstage beatings, nubile nudity, and chunks of the show performed in absolute darkness—even the exit signs go out! Be welcome, and BEWARE!
