MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Gothic Pictures International is proud to announce that the Filipino Arts and Cinema, International (FACINE) film festival has accepted and will be screening Darkest Night as a part of its film lineup. The 14th annual FACINE festival is slated to begin in late October in San Francisco, California.

Darkest Night is a horror film with an almost all-Filipino cast and crew. It was filmed on location in Manila and Floridablanca, Pampanga, in 2011.

“I am thrilled that Darkest Night is receiving this honor. I know I speak, not only for myself, but for all of our team, all the cast and crew of the film who did such great work to bring it together,” said DJ Perry, the American actor from Michigan who stars in the film.

“This is a great day for all of us,” said Alf Alacapa who created the visual horror effects for the film. “We’re truly happy to see our film honored in the U.S.”

Mr. Alacapa is originally from Bacolod and now lives in Metro Manila. Actors and crew members from all over the Philippines came together to make this film.

The FACINE festival is open to all media artists of Filipino ancestry. Any number of entries may be submitted, regardless of genre, subject or format. Also, non-Filipino film-makers may submit works based on Filipino or Filipino-American subjects.

Exact dates for the screening and FACINE festival will be announced at a later time. The director of the festival, Mauro Tumbocon Jr., sends his congratulations to all those who were involved in making Darkest Night.
