Award winning filmmaker John Borowski attends the world premiere screening of his film, Carl Panzram: The Spirit of Hatred and Vengeance.
Chicago’s historic Portage Theatre will host the film on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 4:00pm. Borowski and cast of the film will be present for Q&A and autographing DVD’s after the show. The show will also feature vendors, props and costumes from the film, and raffles for unique prizes.
A lifelong criminal and murderer, Carl Panzram befriends Henry Lesser, a young jail guard at the Washington DC jail in 1928. After hearing of Panzram’s torture, Lesser sends Panzram one dollar and convinces the killer to write his autobiography while secretly supplying him with pencil and paper. Panzram writes over 40,000 words documenting his entire life of and crime, torture, rape, and murder.

John Dimaggio, Bender from Fox’s Futurama, provides the voice of Carl Panzram.
