Maybe not horror, but definitely fantasy and science fiction.
One of the world’s most recognized fantasies is returning to the big screen with a new twist! Dorothy and The Witches of Oz debuts in select theaters tonight! Although not a direct sequel to the original Oz film, this film does fit into the timeline of the book series. This time, Dorothy returns as a children’s author and “makes a decent living continuing her grandfather’s series of Oz books. When a new agent enters the scene, Dorothy moves to New York City. In the midst of a major business deal for her books, Dorothy discovers that her books are not based on her imagination, but on repressed memories. While Dorothy struggles with the revelation, she is forced to confront The Wicked Witch of the West, who has descended upon the Big Apple, determined to settle an old score.”
Dorothy and The Witches of Oz is written and directed by Leigh Scott (The Beast of Bray Road). It will star Paulie Rojas (The Last Resort), Eliza Swenson (Dracula’s Curse), Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future franchise), Barry Ratcliffe (Dead & Breakfast), and many more; as well as appearances by the beautiful Chanel Ryan and wrestling’s Al Snow.
As I mentioned, this film is out in select theaters tonight. Click here to view the theater listings for tonight, as well as the next batch of screenings next Friday. All screenings tonight will be in Arizona; next week screenings will be in Kansas and Kentucky. Check this film out! A large demand from select theaters could lead to a wider release!
