Stab 5 is Now in Production

With Scream 4 set to premiere in just sixty-four days, production for StabMovies.com’s fan-made Stab 5 has kicked off, aiming for an April 5th release date, just ten days before Scream 4’s opening day. Why the rush you ask?

“We always wanted to have two of the films completed before Scream 4 came out,” states Joshua Patrick Dudley, writer and director of the new “Stab” series. “I’ve had the script done for a little while, production has just been constantly delayed due to conflicting schedules.” Dudley says there is another reason for the hurry “When the Scream 4 trailer came out, we noticed a couple of eerie similarities, so we’re trying to get it out before Scream 4 to nip any rumors of us copying the film in the bud. We try to pay homage to the Scream films, not copy them.”

Cameras on the Stab 5 set have been rolling for over two weeks and Mr. Dudley says that about a third of the film is complete. “We’ve filmed pretty much the whole end of the film and a couple of sporadic scenes throughout the rest of the script. We have a lot more to do!”

Though he won’t reveal anything about the storyline of Stab 5, or even the characters’ names in the film, Dudley did announce a few key points. “The Sarah Campbell storyline is explored further, Heather Gale is back (won’t say how), most of the original cast of Stab 4 is returning somehow, the film is much bloodier than the first, we’re using a tripod all the time, we have new HD cameras and nothing is what it seems.” Intriguing…

You can follow the production as it rolls on via their YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/stabmovies) where they post production Vlogs, on Facebook (search for Stab 5) where no promo art and status updates can be found, and Twitter (www.twitter.com/stabmovies) where you can interact directly with Joshua! Their YouTube channel has almost hit 200 subscribers and nearly 100,000 views! The channel also includes their previous release, Stab 4: Fresh Blood for free viewing in its entirety!
