Fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of the new AMC hit, The Walking Dead, since it’s first season conclusion on December 5, 2010. It was right around that time that news came out regarding when the zombie show would be back – October 2011! However, Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”) revealed in a recent interview that The Walking Dead could return to our tv screens as early as July! He was quoted as saying, “It was a decision from AMC that they wanted to position us in July, along with Mad Men. And I believe they’re going to put Walking Dead in July as well. I think it’s just a sensible thing — they want to attract as many eyeballs as possible, away from the heavy competition of the September, November, January start.” Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this is true.
The Walking Dead was a hit for AMC. Of course the show would be picked up for a second season after the six season one episodes averaged between 4,700,000 and 6,000,000 viewers. The DVD/Blu-ray release is happening March 8, 2011. Fans of the show are encouraged to pick it up! The Walking Dead tells the story of a cop named Rick (Andrew Lincoln) who wakes up after a shooting to find that the world has been destroyed in a zombie apocalypse. He must now navigate through zombie infested America while trying to find his family, survive, and seek out other survivors.
